The Eastern Kentucky University Retirees Association (EKURA) Endowed Scholarship

Applicants must meet these criteria:

  • Be enrolled full-time with good academic standing
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above
  • Pursue a degree in a field of study recognized by the University
  • Submit the appropriate University scholarship application (incoming freshman, transfer, or continuing student) and essay to apply for the scholarship. The essay must explain the applicant's career goals and background.

Please include the scholarship name, your name, and your EKU I.D. number (or Social Security number if you do not have an EKU I.D. yet) on the top of the essay when you submit it with the University application, two references, and grade transcript. Essays should be typed and single-spaced.

The recipient will be asked to attend a meeting of the EKURA to deliver a short presentation on his/her career goals and background.

The scholarship may be renewable. Current recipients must submit a new University scholarship application and essay to be considered in the applicant pool for the upcoming academic year. The award amount may vary from year to year based on available funds.

Application deadline is April 1. All application materials should be submitted to the EKU Scholarship Office, SSB CPO 56, Richmond, KY 40475-3156.
