The Christian Joelle Gordon Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Applicants must meet these criteria:

• Be a non-traditional student, as determined by the definition of the Admissions Office
• Be enrolled full-time or part-time at EKU
• Maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA or higher
• Provide two letters of reference from individuals familiar with the applicant's scholarship, leadership, character, respect for and commitment to diversity
• Submit the appropriate University scholarship application (incoming freshman, transfer, or continuing student) and essay to apply for the scholarship. The essay should be 500-1,000 words in length describing the applicant's commitment and involvement in activities that have helped him/her understand, respect, and celebrate diversity. The applicant may also include a description of what diversity means to him/her. The essay will be judged for grammar and writing as well as content.

Please include the scholarship name, your name, and your EKU I.D. number (or Social Security number if you do not have an EKU I.D. yet) on the top of the essay when you submit it with the University application, two references, and grade transcript. Essays should be typed and single-spaced.

Demonstrated financial need will be considered in awarding this scholarship. Therefore, applicants should submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the upcoming academic year as part of the application process.

The scholarship is renewable for a maximum of eight semesters of study toward a degree provided the recipient maintains a minimum 2.7 grade point average and continues to meet enrollment criteria. The award amount may vary from year to year based on available funds.

Application deadline is April 1. All application materials should be submitted to the EKU Scholarship Office, SSB CPO 56, Richmond, KY 40475-3156.
