The Alycia Erin Smith Memorial Endowed Arts Scholarship

Applicants must meet these criteria:

• Be enrolled at EKU with a declared major in Art & Design, English & Theatre, or Music
• Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.5 or above
• Be involved in school activities related to the applicant's major
• Provide at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher who is familiar with the candidate's potential as an artist
• Submit the appropriate University scholarship application (incoming freshman, transfer, or continuing student) and essay to apply for the scholarship. The essay must explain the applicant's career goals plus list high school and/or college activities related to the major.

Please include the scholarship name, your name, and your EKU I.D. number (or Social Security number if you do not have an EKU I.D. yet) on the top of the essay when you submit it with the University application, two references, and grade transcript. Essays should be typed and single-spaced.

The scholarship is renewable for up to four years provided the recipient maintains at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.0. The award amount may vary from year to year based on available funds.

Application deadline is April 1. All application materials should be submitted to the EKU Scholarship Office, SSB CPO 56, Richmond, KY 40475-3156.
