Types of Assistance Available
Merit Based:
- These
awards are based on various performance criteria, which typically
include a combination of academic credentials (GPA, standardized test
scores, curriculum, etc.) and completion of an application.
The application deadline is typically February 15th, however check
the website or contact our office to be certain.
Need Based:
- These
awards are typically based on a family's or student's demonstrated financial
need. To be considered for need based assistance, complete the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
The priority window for submitting the FAFSA is January-March of each
academic year. Submit your form within the priority window to increase
the possibility of being offered grant or Work-Study funding,
which do not require repayment. The later you submit your FAFSA, the
more likely you are to be offered loan funding which you must repay!
Apply as soon as possible after January 1 of each year you intend
to be in school.
